ABOUT

Journey of inspiration

Over-Amstel Boerderij cherishes the historical Duivendrechtse Polder as a valuable heritage site. Situated along the river Amstel, it offers an inspiring experience: a farm with a garden, a cheese factory, a farm-to-fork restaurant, and a boutique B&B in its historical front house. From this foundation, we aim to continue to develop Over-Amstel Boerderij further into the future.

Together with the local community, Over-Amstel Boerderij inspires a closer connection to nature, with a focus on tradition, detail, and the polder landscape. It is a valuable place, nurturing traditions for future generations.

Our kitchen uses fresh local ingredients, homemade products, and modern, proven preservation techniques, allowing you to enjoy seasonal dishes throughout the year.

Over-Amstel Boerderij is the Dutch sister of Babylonstoren (South Africa) and The Newt in Somerset (England).

Preservation of the Historical Polder Landscape

The Duivendrechtse Polder near Amsterdam was reclaimed in the 17th century as part of the marshland reclamation efforts. Originally intended for agriculture and livestock, about sixty percent of the Duivendrechtse Polder retains its original character. At Over-Amstel Boerderij, we aim to preserve this legacy and safeguard the Duivendrechtse Polder and its farms for future generations.
